Stansted Road 

The Stansted Road Development in Bishop's Stortford resides within East Hertfordshire District Council. This project comprised of the demolition of a dwelling, alterations to land levels, and the erection of four semi-detached 3-bedroom dwellings. The development also includes associated parking and landscaping and the installation of air source heat pumps. This project represents our commitment to delivering sustainable and energy-efficient homes that contribute to the local community and meet the needs of modern families showcases our experience in residential construction and development.

 

The building has been designed to not only reference the surrounding context but reinterpret, finding inspiration in both the materials and massing.  The dwellings use buff brick with a clay roof tile, the dwellings provide habitable rooms at loft level through the use of dormer style roofs and multifloored box windows, these together with Juliet balconies add vantage points for the occupants. The exteriors are a mixture of brick, metal and timber cladding with clean lines and large windows devoid of decorative trim. The front elevations configuration of clad porticoes form ‘front porches’ inviting visitors by providing covered external amenity space, whilst disguising the symmetry of the semidetached properties. The aim was to create contemporary frontages that consolidate with surrounding street scene, by their response in form, orientation and materiality.
